Andy Mike and I were given pass outs to head to 7’s new band night in the heart of Chapel Allerton. At £3 for 2 bands you can’t really complain can you. First up was a 3 piece (of what were probably music students from the Uni?) who didn’t have a name and jammed their way through a few numbers with ease. The guitarist/piano player particularly impressed with Vini Reilly style guitar.
Stolen Volume have confidence and obviously enjoy what they do, which is a sort of light metal, but it was a bit too clean for my liking – the lead guitarist can certainly twidle the strings but that playing the guitar behind your head I’d save for Wembley Stadium gigs.
