Guess this is the main news area?!

Why doesn’t anybody warn you when you are a teenager, no matter what your musical tastes are then, when you hit forty you will have an uncontrollable urge to start listening to country music (you know it’s true). Having found … Continue reading

As an serious indie-kid, I always felt that I should know more by Wire – but you know how it is, if you’re not in at the start and theres a huge back catalogue (some of which youve heard and … Continue reading

Roger played host to the latest quims meeting with the subject being Transport. It was perhaps a sign of the times that the only thing he had to play music on was an iPod docking station meaning we had to bring our tunes on iPods, which actually worked really well enabling us to get more tunes in than ever before. Sat around the kitchen table eating chips and dip, olives, cheese and some rather nice honey glazed sausages…. Continue reading

ith 3 inch platforms and obligatory surgical masks who walked around in synchronised movements all night. Fab!

1st support act was Two Minute Noodles which consisted of a drummer and a Hammond organ and what a glorious noise they made. The drummer rivalled Animal from the muppets in his energy and gurning ability. I knew Id never remember their name so asked for a pen and paper which Tim provided Hope you dont mind there being an equation on it. Someone asked me this question on fluid dynamics that I didnt know so I had to work it out

Next up were a band called something threat.again a notable drummer as he managed to play keyboards at the same time as drumming.nice to see a violin on stage (Whats the difference between a violin and a viola? A violin burns quicker) and they certainly had something going for them although there was a bit too much noodling between the good bits for my liking.

Clinic took the stage resplendent in their Hawaiian shirts and surgical masks and did 2 sets their new LP Do It was set one and a bunch of old tunes entitled Archive was set two.

I first heard IPC subeditors dictate our youth on Peel in the late 90s and you cant go wrong with a title like that! I saw them a couple years later at one of the Leeds festivals when I seem to remember them all having full surgical gowns on. Well, Im happy to report that a decade on from their inception, they havent lost any of their drive and an incessant set of catchy 60s garage tunes had us all bouncing with approval. The Witch stood out from the first set with my personal faves Monkey on my back and The second line topping the archive set. All music should be like this.

. Natty tried their hardest to bring a little sunshine with them and gave a good account of himself/themselves.

Id previously seen the Alabama 3 at Glastonbury in 2002 when they were early on the bill and didnt really take off, but tonight they were fabulous. Sir Eddie Real came on first and drummed on a wooden box along to a loud, heavy electro beat and eventually there were 9 bodies on stage rocking it out in style. Rev D. Wayne and Larry Love commanded the stage and got the crowd going. Devlin Love, their female singer was slight in build but had a massive voice. Woke up this morning, Hello.Im Johnny Cash, Monday dont mean anything to me, You dont dance to techno anymore.everyone a winner.

Lee took the kids home then Which band did you like the best Matty? The last ones, they were cool!

The last time Mike and I saw The Bunnymen together was 23 years ago at Glasto and they were just as good tonight. They started with Rescue, they went on to do Villiers Terrace, The Killing Moon, Bring on the Dancing Horses, Seven Seas, The Cutter and the couple of new ones they did were excellent too! My personal fave was a blistering version of The Back of Love. The band were really tight with a big coated, shades wearing Macca in good voice – he did his thing of singing cover versions in the middle of their songs, including a version of Walk on the Wild Side singing Hey Babe, Take a walk on the Merseyside. An Encore of Lips like sugar sent us home very happy indeed what a great day out!
